Designed to compress hay or crop stalks into compact bales, the baler revolutionized the storage and transport of fodder while enhancing the efficiency of farmers' work.
The design of the baler is not complex, and the earliest baling methods relied on the use of twine. In 1858, the American inventor John F. Appleby invented the first twine baler.
